Book Review: Living Life in the Zone

Living Life in the Zone is a great devotional book written men for men. I know what you're saying...great another BMFM (by men for men) devotional book, that's just what we need. The difference here is that this is written by men that have lived in the world of sports and are pulling back the veil to reveal the insides to the rest of us.

These guys struggle with the same issues that we do: faith, fatherhood, marriage, work and friendship. In this book they share about their struggles to balance that in a world where men are idolized and where Christian values aren't really held to a high standard. So far I have been impressed with the flow of the material, the openness of the writers, and the call for men to rise up and live out lives of faith in whatever setting the find themselves.

It's a 40 Day journey...who couldn't give 40 Days to take a serious look at your life and faith and receive some advice and encouragement from the Pros. What do you have to loose? Check it out today!

I recently received, from Thomas Nelson, complimentary copy of Living Life in the Zone: a 40 Day Spiritual Game Plan for Men and have begun to check it out. So far, I really enjoy what I see. I don't know about most guys but being the staunch non-athlete that I am, I look to the pros in wonderment and envy. Let's face it...who wouldn't want to be able to change the game like Jordan, Montana, or Bonds? Am I right?

I would love to be able to hang in the air, over the rim, watching the crowds look on in amazement as I descend down toward the basket for a slam dunk! I would love to sit back in the pocket, surveying the field and catch my receivers eyes as he makes for the post and pleads with me to throw the ball his way. I would love to feel the transfer of energy as my Louisville Slugger connects with the ball over home plate to make it's journey out of the park and into the open area surrounding the stadium!

It's a world that I can never fully understand but that I respect and admire. It's a world that doesn't seem so mystical now...these guys seem more human and I like that.
